The opening arguments will be made Wednesday in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
The session is set to resume at 1 p.m. ET, when the House managers will begin to formally make their case that the Senate should convict Trump on two articles of impeachment: abusing the power of his office and obstructing Congress.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s rules resolution was approved early Wednesday morning after more than 12 hours of heated debate. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer also proposed 11 amendments on the opening day of the trial, but almost every amendment was denied by the same party-line vote, 53-47.
