Will Ospreay Explains Turning Down WWE For NJPW

During a recent appearance on “Talk Is Jericho”, NJPW star Will Ospreay revealed he was offered a WWE contract in the, but turned it down “immediately”, choosing to remain with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

On why he decided to turn down WWE, Ospreay had the following to say, via Fightful.com:

“As a kid you would always want your Wrestlemania…It’s always been in the back of my mind. But as I come here (NJPW) and grown up more, I don’t do very well traveling as it is. Those guys (in WWE) are wrestling on Christmas day and New Years. That would have killed me. Christmas for me is family. I love being with my family.”

Back in December of 2016, Triple H spoke with ESPN on the possibility of signing Ospreay, and offered the following comments:

“Will Ospreay is an amazing talent. There’s a lot of amazing talent out there. When they’re available, when it’s the right time for them, I wanna work with all of them.”
