Woman’s ‘Call 911’ sign leads to arrest of alleged kidnapper boyfriend

A fast-thinking Long Island woman held up a sign reading, “Please call 911, CALL 911,” while she and her three kids were allegedly being held captive by her boyfriend in a car — ultimately leading to his arrest, police said Wednesday.

A witness spotted the woman in the front passenger seat of a black 2005 Ford Taurus holding the sign at a Mobil Gas Station in Roslyn Heights just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and called the cops, police said.

Police arrested her boyfriend, 36-year-old Ridge resident William Jamal Wilkinson for unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of incompetent physically disabled person, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of marijuana, according to authorities.

Cops said Wilkinson allegedly forced his girlfriend and her three boys — two 3-year-olds with developmental disorders and a 13-year-old — in the car and refused to let them out.
