INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH- FINN BALOR (c) vs SHINSUKE NAKAMURA

It’s time for the first match of the night on the WWE Kick-Off Show as Finn Balor puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Shinsuke Nakamura. The King Of Strong Style starts out trying to get in the head of Balor, but he quickly responds with a big strike.

The champion then moves on to lighting the chest of Nakamura with several chops, but Shinsuke then catches Finn out and sets him up on the top turnbuckle, hitting him with a big knee. As he looks to follow up by diving onto Balor on the ring apron, the champion is one step ahead and catches him with a kick of his own, which he follows up by diving over the top rope to the outside, taking Nakamura out again.

Balor then takes a page out of Nakamura’s book from SmackDown this week as he throws him into the barricade several times. As they return to the ring Nakamura looks to lock in the Arm Bar, but Finn manages to avoid it, only eating several knee strikes instead.

After a brief exchange of strikes, it is Balor who comes out on top following a Pele Kick and he quickly regains control, taking Shinsuke down with an elbow across the chest, although he is only able to earn a two-count. Shinsuke was then quick enough to avoid the Coup De Grace, pulling him down and trapping him in the ropes as he hit the sliding snap German Suplex.

However, this time it was Balor reversing a finisher as he turned the Kinshasa into a double stomp which he followed up by sending Nakamura into the turnbuckles. Balor once again went for the Coup De Grace, but yet again Nakamura moved and responded with a huge knee strike to the back of Balor’s head. Shinsuke then set up Balor and rocked him with the Kinshasa to become the NEW Intercontinental Champion.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH- DREW GULAK (c) vs TONY NESE

Both men waste no time in starting this fight, attacking each other straight away as they drop to the mat and grapple with neither man gaining an advantage yet. Tony Nese managed to nicely take down the champion, sending Drew Gulak to the outside, but as he heads out it is Gulak who gets the best of the situation with a massive lariat from the ring apron to the floor.

Nese then smartly slides under Gulak, grabbing the arm as he goes, slamming Gulak to the mat straight after, only gaining a two-count. Gulak doesn’t waste any time in getting back on the attack, stomping away at Nese’s face, but yet again he responds and suplexes Gulak into the bottom turnbuckle.

Nese then rocks Drew with a massive forearm and hangs up Gulak on the bottom rope and ring apron as he hits a moonsault, crashing onto the apron. Back in the ring, Tony Nese hits the 450 Splash, but somehow the champion is able to kick out.

Both men then battle out to try and outpower each other with Gulak eventually winning out, hitting a powerbomb to Nese, but again it doesn’t get the job done and he follows it up with another big clothesline, yet that isn’t enough either. Gulak then manages to hit the Cyclone Clash and this time, he gets the job done and retains.

Winner: Drew Gulak
