WWE Live Event Notes: Smackdown Outdrawing Raw; Revenue Up, Attendance Down

– Overall live event revenue increased to $144.4 million from $124.7 million despite attendance going down. The reason for this is the huge gate for WrestleMania 32, more live events for Raw and Smackdown and higher ticket prices for some of the premium seats. As well with more total events, merchandise sales were also up.

– Average attendance for domestic live events was 5,800 but if you take out WrestleMania, it drops to 5,300. Both figures are down from 2015 when it was 6,000 and 5,500, respectively.

– In January, Smackdown house shows outdrew Raw house shows for the first time in company history. This evidently shows the drawing power of John Cena.
