R-Truth vs. King Barrett
Up next on the WWE Battleground “go-home” edition of WWE RAW is another singles contest. R-Truth makes his way out to the ring, as does King Barrett, his opponent for this evening.
The match doesn’t last long, as Barrett got in some offense, but Truth pulled out the victory out of nowhere.
Winner: R-Truth
Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Rusev
Up next is WWE United States Champion John Cena. Cena makes his way to the ring expecting a U.S. Open Challenge, however Rusev ends up coming out.
Rusev cuts a promo until he is interrupted as well by former NXT Champion Kevin Owens. Cesaro immediately comes out next and a fight breaks out between these three as Cena leaves the ring. We head to a commercial break.
When we return from the break, Cena is on commentary and Cesaro, Owens and Rusev are competing in a triple-threat match. Owens ends up walking backstage and saying he’s had enough and he’ll see Cena this Sunday. We head to a mid-match commercial.
We’re back from the break and Owens has not returned, so he is out of this match one would presume. Rusev ends up scoring the victory and becoming the number one contender. He will get his shot against Cena next.
WWE United States Championship
– John Cena (c) vs. Rusev
John Cena leaves the commentary table and hits the ring, as he will be defending his WWE United States Championship against Rusev live, next on RAW. We head to a commercial break.
The two battle back-and-forth through a commercial break and in the end, Rusev gets Cena in The Accolade, however Kevin Owens runs in and attacks him for the disqualification.
After the match, Owens knocks Rusev down and hits the Pop Up Powerbomb on Cena. Owens yells that no one will take Cena’s title but him.
Winner via DQ: Rusev
Tough Enough Segment
When we return from the commercial break, the Tough Enough competitors are on the stage. Lita’s music hits and she comes out to the ring while the cast watches on from the stage.
Lita goes on to officially introduce the Tough Enough cast, naming each competitor by name as the Tough Enough theme plays.
