On Monday night’s SummerSlam “go-home” edition of RAW from Corpus Christi, Texas, WWE announced that Jon Stewart will be appearing at this Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Stewart, who appeared on WWE television and was critically acclaimed for his performances, particularly in his RAW appearances as part of an angle with Seth Rollins, will once again appear at SummerSlam after appearing at the event in 2015.
The announcement of Jon Stewart appearing at SummerSlam was made on Monday’s RAW by RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and RAW General Manager Mick Foley.
WWE.com wrote the following about Jon Stewart’s appearance at this Sunday’s pay-per-view:
“SummerSlam is getting another moment of Zen: Raw General Manager Mick Foley confirmed that Jon Stewart, who hosted last year’s SummerSlam and played a deciding role in one of its matches, would return to The Biggest Event of the Summer for the upcoming 2016 edition.
The exact role of the former “Daily Show” host has yet to be confirmed, but the WWE Universe won’t have to speculate for very long: SummerSlam will emanate live from Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center this Sunday at 7 ET/5 PT, only on the award-winning WWE Network.”
