Thomas Tuchel’s #1 midfield priority, Idrissa Gueye, who turns 30 in September, is looking increasingly likely to join PSG, according to Le Parisien.
On Friday, he will play the AFCON final and Les Parisiens are confident of signing him immediately afterwards, with the player apparently super motivated to make the move. Gueye’s entourage confirmed to the newspaper that PSG have reinvigorated their interest, but they are remaining prudent.
A source close to the player: “The future of Idrissa will be decided after AFCON. PSG are a serious option, but he is concentrating on the final and will decide on his future next week. It is a project that could interest him but there are also other clubs in the race. We have to remain prudent, like the last window proved. The 31st January, we thought that things would happen. There was disappointment but Idrissa was very professional and was able to jump back into a good second half of the season.”
Manchester United, per the outlet, are also interested.
PSG are in active negotiations with Everton, who have told their player that they will not prevent his departure at all costs.
