RMC understand that Lille have had an opening offer of €4m turned down by Rennes for their captain and central midfielder Benjamin André.
The Frenchman & 28-year-old has told the Brittany club’s board that he wants to make the move to experience Champions’ League football.
Whilst the door does not appear to be totally closed from Rennes President Létang’s side, SRFC would want at least €8m, double the opening bid, in order to even consider selling.
Whilst LOSC’s opening bid is undeniably derisory for one of France’s most under-appreciated talents, the situation risks becoming ugly, as André’s entourage are putting forth the notion that they were told their client could leave this summer if an appropriate offer is made.
Has Létang changed his mind? LOSC are determined to get the player over the line at the specific request of manager Christophe Galtier, but Luis Campos has a host of other names on his shortlist for midfield positions that he will readily move on to if progress is not made soon. The outlet claims that in André’s position alone, LOSC have another 3 names that they would happily pursue instead.
