Breaking News: Chris Jericho Makes Surprise Return to NJPW; Sets Up Future IWGP Title Defense

Chris Jericho has made a career out of showing up where you least expect him. He’s made numerous surprise returns to WWE, shocked the world by invading New Japan Pro Wrestling, and most recently the self-proclaimed “best in the world” crashed the biggest independent event in modern history, ALL IN, attacking Kenny Omega.

Y2J’s trend continued today at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling, one of the biggest cards of the entire year, making his presence felt in a very big way.

While EVIL, a member of Los Ingobernables de Japon, was supposed to be in action against Zack Sabre Jr. at the event, he was brutally attacked by Jericho before the bout could get underway. The WWE legend dropped EVIL with a Codebreaker before taking his leave, but the message was very clear – the IWGP Intercontinental Champion has returned to Japan, and he’s looking for blood.

It’s assumed that the two will face off at the upcoming NJPW Power Struggle event on Nov. 3rd, which will also see the finals of the 2018 Super Jr. Tag League. Right now one of the rumored major matches for Wrestle Kingdom 13 is Jericho defending his title against Tetsuya Naito, Los Ingobernables’ leader, in a rematch from Dominion.
