Another lawsuit has been launched as a result of the leaked sex tape featuring Hulk Hogan and the ex-wife of Bubba The Love Sponge.
The New York Post reports that Hulk Hogan has filed a lawsuit against agent Tony Burton for allegedly distributing his sex tape to Gawker in 2012. The former WWE and WCW Champion is suing Burton and his firm Don Buchwald & Associates for conspiring to extort money and for leaking his racist remarks to The National Enquirer.
According to The Post, Burton’s insurance company, Zurich American Insurance Company, filed papers on Wednesday in Manhattan asking for the judge to rule that they aren’t liable for Burton’s actions. The filing states that they have no obligation to defend Burton and his firm, “because he violated the terms of his primary and umbrella policies and therefore doesn’t qualify for coverage.”
In March, Hogan was awarded $115 million from a lawsuit against Gawker Media for sharing his sex tape online. In May, he filed another lawsuit against Gawker alleging that they and radio host Mike “Cowhead” Calta leaked racist quotes from the sex tape, and that Gawker had threatened to release them months before they leaked.
