WWE returns to the WWE Network this evening with the latest weekly edition of NXT TV from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
WWE.com released the following preview for tonight’s show:
WWE NXT preview, May 22, 2019: A new era for the Undisputed
The Undisputed ERA are back and arguably stronger than ever. With the system intact now that Adam Cole and Roderick Strong have made amends, a united threat looms over the NXT locker room. Plus, NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream is set to make an appearance, while NXT General Manager William Regal prepares to address the NXT Tag Team Titles situation.
The boys are back
Reunited and it feels so good. After Roderick Strong extended an olive branch in the form of Matt Riddle’s bloodied flip-flop, The Undisputed ERA appear to be back and stronger than ever. With past issues behind them, NXT’s wolfpack now embarks on a road of opportunity. First task on the list: the championship picture.
Following Strong’s attack on Riddle, NXT Champion Johnny Gargano made the shocking announcement that he will put his championship on the line against Adam Cole at TakeOver: XXV. Cole, who’s been vocal about his claim to the top prize, is sure to have much to say in response to Gargano’s decision. Plus, with Cole’s “draped in championship gold” affirmation still lingering in the air, are the united ERA now the biggest threat to the NXT goldmine?
Watch the throne
As all eyes remain fixed on the NXT North American Title, Velveteen Dream basks in the sought-after spotlight. From Matt Riddle to Buddy Murphy, His Highness has made examples of those who’ve decided to step up to his throne. As demand continues to be at an all-time high, “The North American Dream” will no doubt have much to say about the growing desire surrounding his crown when he strolls into Full Sail. What’s next for The Dream and his crown?
Candice LeRae takes on Reina González
Last month, Candice LeRae expressed her desire to reassert herself in the crowded NXT Women’s division. After making a statement with a win over Aliyah, the laser-focused competitor now prepares for action against the intimidating Reina González. González, who made it far in the Worlds Collide Women’s Battle Royal, poses a significant threat to LeRae’s plans. How will the spirited Superstar cross this hurdle and get back in the mix for the NXT Women’s Title?
Mansoor in action
Given that he’s taken Dominik Dijakovic and NXT UK’s Travis Banks right down to the wire in singles matches, Mansoor has proven he’s no tenderfoot in the ring. As he posts up for a battle this week, will the scrappy competitor add a win to his impressive stretch?
Big news for the NXT Tag Team Titles
With The Viking Raiders vacating the NXT Tag Team Championship, NXT General Manager William Regal is expected to address the status of the coveted prize this week. The news couldn’t be better timed, seeing as how NXT TakeOver: XXV is less than two weeks away. Don’t miss Regal’s much-anticipated announcement when NXT streams tonight at 8/7 C on the award-winning WWE Network.
