WWE introduced the name for the new women’s tag-team of former NXT Superstars Asuka and Kairi Sane on this week’s edition of SmackDown Live.
As seen on Tuesday night’s show, Paige announced that from now on the duo will be known as “The Kabuki Warriors.”
The two would go on to defeat Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in tag-team action later in the show.
In a WWE.com exclusive backstage interview from Tuesday’s SmackDown Live taping at the O2 Arena in London, England, Paige promised big things for The Kabuki Warriors. Check out the video below.

Additionally, Asuka took to social media on Tuesday to share the definition of the word / phrase, “Kabukimono.”
As the former NXT Women’s Champion explained, it means “Sengoku or Edo-period eccentric who attracted public attention with their eye-catching clothes, peculiar hairstyle, and weird behavior.”
