Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of full back Yuri Berchiche on a deal until 2022 from Real Sociedad for a fee close to €15m.

The 27-year-old joins the Ligue 1 giants from the La Liga side after impressing many of Europe’s elite clubs this past season as Eusebio Sacristan’s side finished sixth in La Liga, with Berchiche making 35 appearances.

The fee is yet to be officially be confirmed by either club, but with Layvin Kurzawa being the only first team left-back in Paris following the departure of Maxwell, Berchiche’s transfer adds another body to Unai Emery’s side.

Berchiche isn’t as attacking minded as Kurzawa and is known for his defensive ability, offering PSG something different in the left back place, similar to when Maxwell played. He also managed to get on the score sheet three times in La Liga and provided two assists and will hope to be a success in the capital.
